Glossary

Covered Storage

Outdoor storage under a roof or canopy but without enclosed walls.

Full definition

Covered storage (often called canopy storage or carport storage) places the vehicle under a roof - typically a steel canopy or fabric awning - but without enclosed walls. Protects from direct sun (preventing UV degradation of paint, dashboards, tires), rain, snow accumulation, and hail. Does NOT protect from wind-driven precipitation, blowing dust, temperature extremes, or theft to the same degree as indoor. Sweet-spot pricing between outdoor and indoor. Popular for: RVs (roof seam protection), boats on trailers, classic cars not used in winter, motorcycles.

Pricing note

Covered storage typically runs $80-$250/month, roughly 1.5x outdoor rates and 0.5x indoor rates for the same size.
