A vehicle cover is a fitted fabric cover applied to outdoor-stored vehicles to mitigate weather damage. Materials range from cheap polyester ($30-$80, suitable for short-term indoor use) to multi-layer breathable fabrics like Covercraft Block-It 380 or Noah ($200-$600, suitable for outdoor multi-month storage). Critical features: breathability (prevents condensation under the cover), UV resistance (extends cover life from 6 months to 5+ years), and elastic hems with tie-down points to prevent wind whipping. Wind-whipped covers actually damage paint by acting like sandpaper - properly fitted covers with secure tie-downs are essential. For boats, fitted covers and shrink-wrap are different products; covers are reusable while shrink-wrap is one-season.
